Signs Your Pool Needs Repairs

Early detection of pool issues can save time and money. Look out for these signs that indicate your pool may need repairs.

Visible Cracks and Leaks

Cracks in the pool’s surface or visible water loss can be significant signs of trouble. Even small cracks can grow, leading to major structural issues. Watch for standing water around the pool or a drop in water level without obvious causes like evaporation.

Conduct a bucket test if you suspect a leak. Fill a bucket with water and place it on the steps. Mark the water line inside and outside the bucket. If the pool water level drops more than the bucket's, you may have a leak.

Unusual Noises from the Pump

Strange noises coming from your pool pump, such as grinding or squealing, may signal mechanical issues. These sounds could indicate problems like worn-out bearings or debris caught in the pump.

Regularly inspect and maintain the pump to prevent long-term damage. Ensure the pump operates smoothly and consider professional servicing if you notice persistent or unusual noises.

Inconsistent Chemical Levels

Consistently unbalanced chemical levels could be a sign of underlying problems, such as a malfunctioning filtration system or unseen leaks. This imbalance may lead to cloudy water or increased algae growth.

Monitor your chemical levels carefully. If repeated adjustments do not stabilize them, it might be time to consult a pool professional to diagnose and address potential issues with the equipment.
